Rangers to stick by Wattereus

Why? Sure he was a good stand in but he wasn't amazing. I told Mo today as i said last week "told you he should be dropped for Klos". Mo Said "It was crap defending though" to which I replyed "yeah but how many times does Klos make up for bad defending?" The guy is exceptional and our best player consistently across the last 6 years. He deserves the place on ability alone, never mind loyality.

Just something not right

Me and my girlfriend have a good relationship. We were friends before we decided to go out and we get along very well, although we do have different interests we have plenty to talk about and enjoy each others company. However two things happened in the last week that have made me think "what the fuck?!".

She bought us theatre tickets for a weekend that I was working and then got upset when I said I might not be able to go. So I cancelled work but then she told me she now didn't want me to go because I didn't seem thasnkful enough for them. Anyway eventually we eneded up going to see Miss Saigon which I thought was really good. She didn't enjoy it because she worried that I didn't like it and then when we came out we got into an argument about how she might one day meet someone who likes ballet, opera and theatre more than I do and doesn't like sport and other things that I like, and that person will be better for her. That was the first thing, I just though that if you love someone it doesn't matter if they aren't into ballet, it's more about you and them and the bond between you. Such as she hates football, so I don't force it upon her, I have other friends that I'll watch the football with, doesn't mean that I'm going to fall in love with them instead.

Second thing needs a little background history. After Hayley finished high school in Scotland she went to America for a year and lived with an American fmaily and finished high school there too. She really loved it and loved the family and even calls them Mum and Dad (which I think is disrespectful of her own family here). Since she came back all she wants to do is go over there and join that family fulltime, in fact she has been back 4 times since she left (6 years ago) and has a trip booked for most of December. She's also spending most of novemebr on a course, and she works, I have uni and work too and the Christmas period I'll go home for as by then I won't have seen any of my family for 3 months. After that I have exams.

Anyway, on the 20th of December she comes back from the US and on the 20th I'm due to travel back to Manchester so I suggested seeing that we wont see each other for a 6 week period that I stayed in Aberdeen for a couplke more days so that I could see her when she got back.

She went ballistic and went on at me for trying to take her "American thing" away from her. I explained that we would barely see each other between the start of November and the end of January so I just thought she would have wanted to see me for a day when she told me that she won't even think of me when she is over there, and not to expect her when she's having a great time in America to expect want to be with me in comparison. I would say that's the most painful thing anyone has said to me for a long time, especially from someone who claims to love me.

Surely it's about sharing things, and missing them when you don't see them, I'm sure she would be pretty pissed off if I went away for a couple of weeks and just forgot about her until I came back.

Anyway, pretty sure no-one has had the patience to read all of that but if you have, surely I'm right?

Ok, just wondering something. My girlfriend never farts and so can be extremely annoyed when I do because she has shown somehow that it’s possible not to do it. I have no idea how girls can do this and surely it can’t be healthy for them to store up all this gas.

Boycotting Boddingtons

Oh yeah before I forget, I'm boycotting Boddingtons which was until recently my pint of choice. They have for years advertised of the back of Manchester while Manchester was the cool place to be, using sloigans like "Boddingtons, the cream of Manchester", it even was spoken about in Friends after they came back from london and Joey ran to the Brittish bar to "get one of those badboys!".

Now they have closed the strangeways brewary where it has been brewed since time began and moved to London dispite campaigns against the move like Save the Cream and have subtlely dropped the claim of being from Manchester but are still trying to use it. Their latest advert has the slogan "Boddingtons, the cream" but instead of saying Manchester they just play a Happy Mondays song (which would make people think of Manchester). Very clever you evil marketing bastards.

It might not put much of a dent in their pockets but its one drinker they have lost and if anybody else had loyalty it would be all of them. Come to think of it, Stones bitter tastes a lot better nowadays anyhow.

Maniero chooses early Ibrox exit

I just read here at BBC.co.uk about Rangers releasing Philippo Maniero just a few months after signing him for a free. Only thing is it wasn't free, he will have been paid a whopping big signing on fee and of course a few months stupid money wages. I never could understand the point in signing him when last season Novo and Prso were the best pairing Rangers had since Hateley and McCoist nearly lifted the European Cup. On top of that we have a Scotland international striker warming the bench (Thompson) and a very promising new signing in Federico Nieto, all this without a mention to Francis Jeffers, and then we sign an unknown 32 year nobody from some tiny Italien club, madness. In fact McLeish's signing policy of hasbeen pensioners is my only doubt about him and I thought he had given it up.

I'm not just saying it now either, if you look back in my archives I ranted about it rightly back in January. At least someone came to their senses and got rid of him, now if only Nieto can get a few games to show a little magic, and afterwards Rangers aren't willing to sell him on we might have a rival to McCoists legend striker status.

92 Reasons to drop Gerrard form the England squad

Was thinking about the England World cup hope earlier, and came to the conclusion that Gerrard should be dropped until after the World cup. Not because he doesn't merit a place in the team but because he's a very similar player to Lampard and because he'll be exhausted by the end of the season whereas Lampard won't. Lampard plays at a club where there's two world class players for every position, so I don't think he'll play every game and will be rested when tired whereas Gerrard plays at a club that underachieve in every game he misses.

He also plays at a club that shouldn't be in the Champions league this season but because they are, had to play 6 qualifiers at the start of the season. Those games mean that Liverpool are already 2 games behind most other teams in the Premiership, and when they miss two more to play in the FIFA World Club championship in Japan as well as an FA cup game will be 5 games behind the other teams even though they have played 4 games more. If they progress past the group stage they will have even more games and all these missed games will have to be played late on in the season.

He's played in games for England too, I wouldn't be surprised if at the end of the season he has played in over 70 game, which would mean he was dropped for 22.

Unbelievable

I decided to join the army's university officer training unit last week. Joining day was a bit scary but I think I did pretty well and this week I spent my first away trip with them training. At 20:00 on Friday I got my hands on a working firearm for the first time in my life and so did plenty of people that shouldn't have.

Even after being repeatedly told

NEVER point your rifle at anybody, even in jest!

a pair of African recruits repeatedly did this every time the training officer left the room, most shocking of all was the fact they took multiple digital pictures of themselves holding the weapons and even one where he held the gun in the air and shouted "Allah!" and then "the new face of terrorism" ?! It's hardly the officers fault but when we first get live ammo to fire I don't want to be within bullet range of these guys. Stupidity goes hand in hand with immaturity and seems to come easy to some.

Unsuitable winning candidate: Fascist John
At the party after recruiting I got wind of a guy who was knocking about asking people if they wanted to join his Fascist group. Next I heard from him was as I waited outside an officers office and couldn't help overhear him explaining to the officer about how Jewist people were selfish communists and how they should be wiped out. Grrr, even thinking about it makes me feel angry deep down in the pit of my belly. They last night in the mess I got into an argument with him where he was trying to justify his views. Everyone is entitled to their views, however maybe we shouldn't hand guns to th extremists or have we already forgotten about Auschwitz.

Other than that everyone seemed fine and I regret not joining the unit a long time ago.

Celtic Keeper Boruc

Seems like the guy respects Celtic as a club and isn't just using them as a stepping stone from his comments, what do you reckon?

Glasgow is good for me. I'm only 25 and I don't want to go changing clubs every few minutes, because Celtic is a very good club for the start of your career
